Here’s My Heart
On Friday morning, I did what I love to do. I got up before sunrise, went down to the beach, plugged in my headphones and watched the sky get continually lighter as I started singing my favorite David Crowder song. I love this song because it challenges me to trust God. Really trust Him. It starts with a chorus….
Here’s my heart Lord.
Here’s my heart Lord.
Here’s my heart Lord.
Speak what is true.
I’m saying “Lord, my heart is yours. My ‘desire’ is for You. With that said…even before I know what You’re going to say…I’m asking You to ‘speak what is true’. In other words, ‘I’m in. I trust you, regardless how painful, ugly or inconvenient the truth.'” The order of these two phrases is critical. It’s the opposite of trying to manage or manipulate God. It’s not “Speak what is true, let me see how that sounds, and then (maybe) I’ll give you my heart”. It’s a refrain full of faith.
So then comes the verse…
“I am found, I am yours, I am loved, I’m made pure.”
“I have life, I can breathe, I am healed, I am free”.
I feel the emotion building as I sing “Here’s my heart Lord” again. My voice is cracking. I AM found. I AM loved. I DO have life. I AM free!
At that very moment, the sun shines softly through on the horizon. Within a few seconds, the shape of a heart.
Now I’m bawling. God has overwhelmed me. Crowder sings another verse…
“You are strong, You are sure, You are life, You endure.
You are good, always true, You are light, breaking through!”
“You are more than enough, You are here, You are Lord.
You are hope, You are grace, You’re all I have, You’re everything!”
The picture I took with my iPhone isn’t all that sharp. I hope you can make it out.
I won’t ever forget it.

“I’m in” too!
Thanks Regi!
Wow!
What an amazing moment of worship. Thanks for sharing it.
Thanks for pointing out the Crowder lyrics too.
Regi thanks for sharing your amazing time with God! I had a similar experience when I was baptized in a lake years ago. God IS always present!
He’s so good to me
Evidently our Father knew what you needed most right then. Indeed, beautiful. Thank you, Regi. A few posts back on my personal blog you can see how our God caught me by surprise with a sunrise here in Colorado. I think our Father loves to surprise us times per day, if we would just wake up. 🙂 Grateful for who you are, your good heart, and what all you are doing!
Of course I love all your blogs but this one was extra special. To see evidence that our Father was speaking to you is breath taking. Wish I could have been there with you!
Awesome
What an amazing experience! God is REAL! He has the world under his control. He used it on Friday to show Regi a heart using the sun and clouds. This puts a huge smile on my face this morning.
My scripture of the day from Blue Letter Bible:
Jeremiah 29:13 (KJV) And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
That’s pretty cool Regi.
Wow. This made my day. “Speak what is true.” Thanks so much.
It is so so important to trust God and give Him our whole heart. When it comes to God there can be no compromise.
So grateful for you Regi, you bless our lives with your passion and love.
I read right into that morning. Thanks for bringing that experience to me.
Thanks for Regi’s heart Jesus.
I ‘happened’ across your page this morning, and I must say that I feel the Lord working mightily through you. Even though I didn’t hear you speak these words, I certainly heard the Lord speak them. Thank you for being right where you are right now, and thank You Lord for having me right were I am right now.
Bless you Regi!
