Generosity in our Generation and Beyond
Today we’ve got our first ever video blog! Although it says the video is 11 minutes, we’ve cut it down to 5 so you can get the meat of the message. Enjoy and give us some feedback in the comments!

How true it is, Regi.
It was only about 5 years ago that I realized the true importance of giving (and yes, I am from your generation). When I started truly tithing at my church, as well as giving to other charitable organizations that I believed in, I saw the grace of God come back at me like I had never seen before in my life.
At times during the last five years, I have even given to the point of worrying a little bit about my own finances, but then I remember to just leave it to God, to have faith, to believe. And to this day, God has never once failed me. The saying “the more you give, the more you get”, is really true.
But that’s not what really matters. What you also get is the wonderful feeling of having helped others who are in need, and the wonderful feeling of having done what you know God wants you to do. And there is NOTHING that can match those feelings! 🙂
Be blessed!
I could not agree with you more. Our Heavenly Father loves to give good gifts to His children.
I was particularly struck by the closing comment, “don’t be a reservoir.” That is what the Dead Sea is, all the nutrients of the Sea of Galilee and the Jordan river valley flow into the Dead Sea. It is so nutrient rich it is dead.
I have a quote I use often, “I used to be a optimist who believed the glass was half full. I felt so much better than the pessimist who said it was half empty. We were both wrong, if I will allow him, Jesus will fill my cup up to overflowing. Then my mission in this life is to splash life on everyone I encounter.” Rick
Keep splashing Rick!
Well done. Your passion is so evident, and the video really amplifies it. Keep em coming!
…working on it. Thanks for your encouragement Alex
Love the change in format Regi – thanks! I’m part of that generation that you’re concerned about; thank you for your concern. Honestly, we needed to hear it, but even more, we needed to be reminded that our faith gives us the opportunity to venture out of our comfort zones, to “conform [no] longer to the patterns of [the] world” (especially those patterns that are rooted in fear) and to begin giving back what we know and have now – without the expectation of return, or any bias for “what’s in it for me.” Difficult for sure, but doable. Your challenge is accepted!
Hi Reggi
I have a similar journey to what you have mentioned. Now I view myself as a Kingdom Investor making strategic use of my time treasure and talent to make disciples up here in Ottawa Canada and around the world.
I shared similar views until I recently attended a Generous Giving event and met 3 young men who are just turning 30. They have surprised me with their generosity. They are trusting God far more at their age than I ever did.
Love the video and would encourage you to do more. It is how the 18 – 44 year olds consume information. As well as us older guys!
Thanks
Stephen
