How a Ripple Begins in Mentoring
A mentoring journey can change everything. What began with mentors pouring into me became a ripple that shaped countless other lives.
I started attending a small group in my early twenties that was deeply mentoring-focused, and it was the best decision I could’ve ever made. My leaders were so intentional in connecting with me, listening to me, learning my story, and guiding me that they became some of the best mentors I have ever had.
Their impact shaped me in the way I saw God, myself, and others. I began making changes in my lifestyle, and I grew in how I treated people, how I made decisions, and how I followed Jesus.
I was so grateful for how these leaders poured their lives, love, and wisdom into me that I felt an urge to do the same for others. After going through a leadership program at church, I started leading my own small group and invested in others the same way my mentors invested in me.
The result was something beyond anything I could have expected. After years of leading this group, I began to see the fruit of those weekly meetings, coffee conversations, calls, and check-ins. Many of the women I had the honor to mentor started their own groups and began serving inside the church.
A ripple that started with one invitation
One of the first women I invited to my group was a friend I had grown up with. I didn’t know what to expect since we both used to have a young adult lifestyle that revolved around partying. To my surprise, she accepted the invitation, and she was all in.
Within months, she had a real encounter with Jesus. She joined the same leadership program at the church that I went through and eventually co-led groups with me for several years. Today she is married to a man she met at church, serves alongside him in different areas, leads her own small group, and is raising a little boy to grow up as a godly man.
And she is only one of many women whose lives have been transformed through this simple, intentional model of mentoring.

It impacts everything connected to you, your marriage, your family, your friendships, and if you choose to lead, the people you mentor as well. It is a ripple that might seem small at first, but grows into something larger than you’ve ever imagined.
If something is stirring in your heart as you read this, pay attention to it. It might be the Holy Spirit waking you up to one of the most meaningful experiences you can step into.
