I adopted a puppy about a year ago. She is the sweetest girl, but she came with a lot of trauma and mistrust in humans. I wanted to help her grow in confidence, so I started looking into training options. There were plenty of online resources, apps, and books. But eventually, I decided to take her to in-person group classes.

It did not take long to realize something important. Not all dogs are the same.

Even though we were all learning the same commands, some dogs needed to be approached differently. What worked for one would not work for another. There were moments when I thought, if I had just followed an online program, I probably would have failed at training my dog. And it would not have been her fault or mine. We simply needed someone who could walk alongside us and understand her specific needs.

The presence of someone experienced made all the difference.
