Radical Faith is Built in the Small, Quiet Moments
Radical faith grows in the small and quiet places where we choose God in simple, everyday ways. This reflection is a reminder that your ordinary obedience matters more than you think.
As the year comes to an end, many of us begin to look back on what we accomplished and what we hope for next. In that reflection, I often ask myself, What was my impact this year? Was I obedient to what God was calling me to?
If I am honest, I feel a little guilty over the things that felt unproductive or distracting and did not draw me closer to God (hello social media). But I try to offer myself grace and look instead at the quiet moments I spent with Him while reading my Bible, listening to praise music, or simply talking to Him.
I think about the conversations with friends and family where we shared the good and the hard and reminded each other of Scripture and God’s truth. I think about the ways I served my husband, a neighbor, or even a stranger where there was no reward or recognition, only the joy that comes from blessing someone else.
We often place so much pressure on the big things. Our calling. Our purpose. Our dreams. We imagine they must be huge or impressive. But radical faith is built in the small, quiet moments. In the simple acts of obedience no one else sees but God does. He sees your heart. He sees your intention.
This quiet faithfulness shows up in mentoring
Maybe you are a mentor who feels tired from pouring yourself out. Maybe you are walking with mentees who are not as committed as you hoped. Maybe you are wondering, Is this really worth it? Does what I do matter?
I want to remind you that as long as you are pursuing God, listening for His voice, and being obedient to what He asks of you, you are making an eternal impact, even if it feels ordinary. Your presence matters. Your commitment matters. Your faithfulness matters.
Keep going. God is forming something deep in you as you walk with others. Your quiet “yes” is shaping lives more than you realize.
And that is what makes radical faith so beautiful. God takes our quiet “yes” and multiplies it far beyond what we can see. The conversations you pour into, the prayers you offer, the moments you serve without recognition, they ripple out into the lives of others. Sometimes those ripples are visible, and sometimes they are not, but God is always at work.
If you feel led, one more quiet “yes” can help shape even more lives. By partnering with Radical Mentoring for Women, you help equip more mentors, create more sacred spaces for transformation, and extend the impact of the faithful work you are already doing. If you want to be part of this work in a practical way, you can give today and invest in the lives of future mentors and mentees.
Thank you for trusting God with each yes and for walking this journey with us.
