The ideal location for your monthly mentoring meetings is the mentor’s home. Mentoring is about modeling “this way of life.” Meeting in the mentor’s home gives mentees the chance to meet the mentor’s family, see how he interacts with his wife, observe the pictures he has on the walls and keepsakes he has around . . . essentially they get an inside look at what is important to him. Most mentees will also be more open to sharing and telling their story in the comfort of someone’s home as opposed to in a public coffee shop or even in the church building.
