We think so. Here’s why. Men who want to grow love a challenge and will rise to meet that challenge. Especially when expectations are communicated clearly upfront. That’s one reason we have guys apply for mentoring groups. They have to opt-in to the process and we want them to know ahead of time what they can expect along the way.

Lastly, book choice matters. We’re looking for short, practical books here. Something that can easily be read and processed in a month. 200-ish pages is a good guideline. Let’s just say, when we see a post-season survey come back saying the Bonhoeffer biography was the least beneficial book, we’re not at all surprised.
